The Veil of Silence – On Daigre Lane is finished.
It has been a long time in the making, nine years to be exact.
The book has been unfolding, as the truth of my identity is being revealed. What was once painful, is now beautiful. I am so grateful to God for all that He has done, and continues to do, in and through me.
The first edition was a devotion that only covered the crux of the story: silence, lies, love, and loss. It did not cover the characters involved, the historical elements, or the depth of love abaft the circumference of adversities that the main characters had to endure.
The second edition was a skeleton of the thirty-year love story.
The third edition covered it all. The foundation in which the story is set, the Picayune village of Loreauville, Louisiana, and the lives of all the characters. Most importantly, this edition covered the story’s focus, the gravity of love, and the devastation of secrets and lies from the late 1950’s through to 1980.
The fourth edition became the final, a novellette, the first of five in The Veil of Silence series.
Stay tuned. I will be sharing snippets along the way, as well as my personal journey in reclaiming my identity.
Pre order will begin very soon.
The official book launch and release party is scheduled for October 12, 2019.
I am so excited about the release of The Veil of Silence. Can’t wait to see what God is going to do through the publication of this book.
What a revelation for you to be able to speak your truth and live life fully.
Thank you for sharing your journey.
Indeed it’s, my friend. The freedom I am experiencing is beyond words. Thank you for joining me through this journey of life.
Congratulations! I always knew you’d manage to write “The” book!
Thank you, Gayle. And there’s so much more to come! It’s just the beginning.
The setting of this book feels like Genevieve is very sophisticated, I picture her “high yellow” like they say,,, Grand Marias and she is indeed proper! Joan,, lol I’ve listen to this about five times. Her posture makes me feel like she is the kind of woman who thinks her “SHIT” don’t stink. Okay, the setting,,, yes,,,,segregation for sure but not only in Loreauville all over the south of Louisiana. Hummm. Where is Genevieve going on that train? Let’s say she is a “Creole” gal,,, why is she sitting in the back of train, surely she could pass for WHITE!!!! BRING IT ON JOAN TAYLOR! I’M ALL IN!
Yes, indeed. Creolene, for sure. Stayed tuned to find out where Genevieve is headed to on the Missouri Pacific.
Joan Taylor, I didn’t say Congratulations on the Veil of Silence,,, I am looking at the cover and it looks like the page is torn out of a diary or paper bag, the hand over the mouth makes me think someone is covering up so stuff. Almost like Shhhhh, “WHAT HAPPENS IN MY HOUSE,,,, STAYS IN MY HOUSE”. Idk,,, lol,,, just thinking.
Thank you, love. Oh, I love this…Please share all your thoughts on the Facebook book page. I am creating the Facebook book page today.
Oh my lord! Congratulations for your love of writing. Joan Taylor, this book is so good, it straight to the point. Such a fast read, making a person want more. Very descriptive and electric. Job well done. I have s many questions,,, I can not wait until the BOOK REVIEW, Book TALK!
